Charleston Fire Department Holding 9-11 Memorial

The Charleston Fire Department will ring the bell at the Old Fire Department Bell Tower for each firefighter killed on Sept. 11, 2001

On the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington, D.C. the Charleston Fire Department will hold a memorial ceremony Downtown.

Beginning at 9:58 a.m., the time the first of the two World Trade Center towers fell, firefighters will ring the bell in the Old Fire Department Bell Tower for each of the 343 firefighters killed on 9-11.

The Old Fire Department Bell Tower is located behind the City of Charleston Department of Budget, Revenue, and Finance at 116 Meeting St.
