  1. The Charleston Literary Festival hosted Elisabeth "Betsy" Griffith on Wednesday. The Washington-based historian highlighted the role that Black and White women played in cultural shifts through the last century. About 150 participants gathered at the Dock Street Theatre to listen to the lecture. The festival will continue through Sunday. (Charleston City Paper)
  2. Inclement weather impacted numerous traffic lights throughout North Charleston on Thursday. Drivers were encouraged to use caution while traveling throughout the area. The traffic light issues were likely due to some power outages caused by gusty winds. (Count On 2 News)
  3. Charleston home sales have dropped dramatically. According to data from the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors, home sales dropped by 32 percent last month. The two main causes of the drop are inflation and rising interest rates. The median home sale price last month was $400,000. (Subscription: Charleston Post Courier)
