Charleston Police Investigating Shots Fired

Charleston Police found evidence of at least 10 shots fired in the vicinity of Orleans Road and Hazelwood Drive

Charleston Police found 10 shell-casings from two different caliber weapons Monday near the intersection of Hazelwood Drive and Orleans Road according to an incident report.

The officers responded to the area around 6 p.m. after neighbors reported hearing shots fired. The residents reported two black males had been involved in the shooting, one of which had been wearing a red shirt. No other description of the men involved was included in the report.

Officers found five 9 mm shell-casings in front of 2000 Hazelwood Drive, and about 100 feet away found five more .45 caliber shell casings, the report stated. Detectives are still investigating the shooting.

A juvenile stopped coming out of the home at 2000 Hazelwood told officers he had been at a nearby convenience store during the shooting, according to the report.
