Little Black Dress Wine Stroll at Middelton Place

The Middleton Place National Historic Site is already well-known for its natural beauty. On Wednesday, Sept. 5, the Middleton Place Restaurant will take that to the next level, inviting the natural beauties of Charleston and Summerville to take part in the Little Black Dress Wine Stroll. Ladies will be the focus of the weekly Wine Stroll, which starts at 6:30 p.m. and runs to 8 p.m. in the historic gardens of Middleton Place, 4300 Ashley River Road.

Pull out your favorite Little Black Dress, and slip out for a special girls’ night out at Middleton Place. The stroll will be held on the parterre overlooking the Butterfly Lakes and the Ashley River. Highlights include wines paired with chocolate by Charleston chocolatier Sweeteeth, along with champagne and strawberries. This Wine Stroll will also have an added bonus – shopping – with specialty items available for purchase from the Middleton Place Museum Shop and Garden Market. (Of course, gentlemen are welcome to attend the Little Black Dress Wine Stroll as well.)

John Eric Battles is the owner of Sweeteeth. He has been creating handmade chocolate confections in Charleston for over five years. Battles works with chocolate like a painter works with color, mixing the proper ingredients for subtle or bold flavor experiences. He has cooked up a special menu for the Little Black Dress Wine Stroll: Blue Cheese and Bacon-infused Bon Bons, Battles’ famous Truffle Truffle, and Sweeteeth’s signature Caramel Sauce served with salty pretzels.
