Fire Department Snuff's West Ashely Blaze
The Charleston Fire Department put out a cooking fire at a West Ashley home Tuesday

The Charleston Fire Department put out a fire at a West Ashley home in the Maryville neighborhood before any serious damage occurred early Tuesday morning, according to a Charleston Police Department report.
A Fifth Avenue man left some peanuts cooking under a tent in his backyard for about 30 minutes Tuesday and returned to find the tent engulfed in flames. Rather than attempt to extinguish the fire he called Charleston Police for help and told them some propane tanks were near the blaze.
Two Charleston Fire Department engines responded and put out the flames before the tanks were compromised though. No injuries were reported. Investigators did not believe the fire was suspicious, but couldn't determine what exactly caused the fire, the report stated.
