Folly Beach Man Wanted for West Ashley Pot Growhouse

Charleston Police are looking for a man who rents the building and pays the utilities for the building where officers uncovered a marijuana grow operation on Nov. 14

A Charleston Police officer followed his nose to a marijuana grow operation last week while doing property checks, according to a Charleston Police Department statement.

Police are looking for Christopher Paul Durand, 42, of 1403 East Ashley Avenue, Apartment A, Folly Beach, whose name appears on the lease and utility bills for the property at 2313 Ashley River Road, where the operation was discovered.

The officer was checking on Self Lighting Company at 2313 Ashley River Road when he detected the marijuana odor and sought a search warrant to enter the building. Inside police found 112 marijuana plants and about 234 grams of loose marijuana.
