Gaillard Body Count Up to 37
The graves of as many as 37 people, likely dating from the Colonial era have now been uncovered at the Gaillard Auditorium

None of the graves appear to be marked, but archaeologists digging at the site of the Gaillard Auditorium have uncovered the bodies of at least 37 people and found a Revolutionary Era cannonball.
The first hint of what is now thought to be an early Charleston cemetery was found in early February when workers using a backhoe to dig up a driveway uncovered part of a skull. Since then 36 other sets of remains have also been discovered.
The latest group of remains came to light last week when eight bodies and the cannonball were found, ABCNews4 reports.

The graves will be relocated to another site, and the relocation is not expected to alter the timeline for the multi-million dollar renovation plan underway at the Gaillard.
