UPDATE: Arseli Read Found Safe

South Carolina Crime Stoppers had asked for help locating a woman who disappeared after checking out of a hotel in Kershaw.

Arseli Read was supposed to arrive in Austrailia on Feb. 20, but after checking out of a Lugoff hotel on Jan. 21 she disappeared, according to a South Carolina Crime Stoppers press release.

A short time after the press release was sent Thursday, she was located in the Phillipines, however.

Read checked into the Ramada Limited located at 542 Hwy 601 S. in Lugoff, SC on Jan. 20 and left the following day. She was supposed to meet a friend named Vick, according to the release. Read planned to travel to Austrailia, but did not show up on her sceduled arrival date.

Read is described as a female, age 46, 5-feet tall, black hair, brown eyes, weighing 145 pounds.

South Carolina Crime Stoppers is asking anyone with knowledge of Read's whereabouts to call 1-888-CRIME-SC or text "TIPSC" to 274637. A reward of as much as $1,000 is available through South Carolina Crime Stoppers for information leading to an arrest for any crime committed in the state
