Home Team Holding Contest to Rename Painkiller

Fiery Ron's Home Team BBQ has taken to the web to ask customers for help in renaming their Home Team Painkiller drink

What's in a name?

Other than the potential for trademark infringement that is.

Recently Fiery Ron's Home Team BBQ found out that someone else holds the trademark on the name "Painkiller," which is unfortunate since Home Team has been calling one of its signature drinks the "Painkiller" for years. Now the restaurant is asking customers for help in choosing a new name for the drink.

"We recently found out that the name 'Painkiller' has been trademarked, so we find our famous frozen drink in need of a new name. So, we decided to take it to our fans to rename our poor nameless Home Team Frozen Drink."

So begins the Home Team web page announcing the contest to rename the Painkiller. The initial contest period runs through Friday, Oct. 12. Customers are encouraged to submit their suggested name for the drink through an online form. Home Team will choose the top five suggested names and then open the second round of the contest, online voting. Voting will run Oct. 22 - Nov. 9.
