- The Charleston Animal Society is working to create room at local shelters to accommodate animals displaced by Hurricane Ian. The organization is asking the community for help in clearing the shelters. The Charleston Animal Society needs the extra room to accept displaced dogs from South Carolina and Florida. - The City of Charleston is asking residents to create hurricane damage reports. The city will need the reports to get a full profile of hurricane damages to submit for state and federal relief funding. Residents are also being reminded hurricane season extends through the end of November. (Live 5 News)
- North Charleston will be celebrating its annual Harvest Festival on Oct. 22. The popular festival will be held in the Old Village. There will be trick-or-treating, costume contests, a petting zoo, and more. Free treat bags will be provided for children 12 years and under. (Count On 2)
