Hurricane Katia Tracking More Northerly

Hurricane not expected to strengthen over next two days, but conditions uncertain after that

Hurricane Katia is still plodding along in the Atlantic Ocean, though its forward motion has now slowed to around 10 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Wind speeds remain steady around 75 mph, with some higher gusts. NHC forecasters say the way the weather patterns shape up over the eastern U.S. during the rest of this weekend as Tropical Storm Lee moves through the Gulf Coast region could affect what Katia does next.

Long-range forecast models still predict Katia will continue in a more northerly direction, traveling between the U.S. East Coast and Bermuda.
