James Island Man Charged with Attempted Murder

The U.S. Marshal's Task Force arrested a James Island man Wednesday on a fugitive warrant for attempted murder

The U.S. Marshal's Task Force on Wednesday caught up with a James Island man charged with attempted murder in a Feb. 10 incident on Greenhill Road on James Island.

Tim Montez Wright, 27, of 1234 Fort Johnson Road, James Island, was arrested by the Task Force around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, according to a Charleston County Sheriff's Office statement.

An arrest warrant on attempted murder charges was issued for Wright following the Feb. 10 incident in which the victim told deputies Wright came to his house and struck him in the face and body several times with a pistol before firing two bullets at him and then fleeing in his car. Deputies found the victim on his front porch when they responded to a call about shots fired in the neighborhood on Feb. 10, according to the incident report.

In an affidavit sworn by a CCSO deputy to obtain the attempted murder warrant against Wright, the deputy stated that a witness that corroborated the victim's account of the assault is Wright's ex-girlfriend.

Wright is scheduled for a bond hearing at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14.
