John Wesley UMC Pumpkin Patch Returns Sunday

Choose from a wide range of pumpkins at John Wesley United Methodist Church during the whole month of October

The pumpkin patch at John Wesley United Methodist Church on Savannah Highway has become an annual tradition over the past 16 or so years.

The church splits the proceeds from the sales of the pumpkin with the New Mexico Native American reservation that grows them. The money that John Wesley keeps goes toward its mission ministries, according to Youth Minister David Boudolf.

"We'll have everything from the tiny little 50-cent pumpkins up to the big $25 ones," Boudolf said.

The church's first truckload will arrive Sunday. Boudolf said the church welcomes anyone who wants to help unload the pumpkins from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. A second truckload will arrive on Sunday Oct. 14.

The pumpkin patch will be open 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 12:30 - 6 p.m. on Sundays. Sales will run the whole month of October.
