Here are the top three stories in Charleston today:
- The City of Charleston has announced that its weekend parking rules along King Street will be made permanent. The rules prohibit parking on King Street between 6:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. Thursday through Saturday. The city will install new parking signage on the affected streets beginning on Monday. (ABC NEWS 4)
- The Festival of Lights will be on Friday, Nov. 11 at James Island County Park. Guests will be able to view the lights between 5:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The Festival of Lights will conclude on Dec. 31. Charleston County Parks will be testing a new parking system to help alleviate traffic. Parking fares will increase on "peak nights." (ABC NEWS 4)
- The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control has reopened Charleston County shellfish harvesting beds. The department will keep two shellfish management areas closed until water quality data shows better bacteria levels for harvesting. The Stone River in Charleston County will remain closed.
