Staying on the cutting edge is a big part of the culture and ambiance at Lava Salon.
Now with a new service, Dirty Hairy's Blowout Lounge, owners Geoff and Noel Richardson are helping to bring a California trend to the Southeast.
"In October we're starting a new salon concept," Geoff Richardson said. "It's called a blowout bar, and it's a trend that started in California and is moving east."

Stylists won't be doing any actual cutting on Friday evenings when the blowout lounge is open, instead customers will get to choose from a menu of options including hand or shoulder and neck massages, various hair treatments, shampoos and blow-dry styling options, and more, all with rock n' roll themed names.
Richardson is excited about getting in on the blowout trend early, and notes that a blowout only salon is launching Downtown as well.

"Our concept is different in that we're not just doing blowouts, but we're layering it on top of what we already do," Richardson said. "We're calling it an after-hours experience that will blow you away."
Dirty Hairy's Blowout Lounge will be open 5:30 - 9:30 p.m. every Friday in October.Â
