Police: Man Carjacked in Citadel Mall Parking Lot

A man's car was stolen at gunpoint while he waited in the parking lot to pick up his wife after the Citadel Mall closed Monday night

A Charleston man was waiting in his car in the Citadel Mall parking lot near Belk after closing time Monday said someone stole his car at gunpoint, according to a Charleston Police Department report.

The carjacking occurred around 9:30 p.m. Monday. The victim told officers that while he was sitting in his car waiting to pick up his wife, who works at a store in the mall, a man with a gun forced him on the ground while he stole the victim's car.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a blue hoodie, white shirt and dark jeans. The stolen car is a blue 2007 Nissan Altima.
