Medical Chopper Makes Emergency Landing

An Air Methods Lifenet SC helicopter made an emergency landing in the West Ashley area at 8:32 p.m. Saturday due to mechanical concerns, according to a Charleston County Sheriff's Office statement.

The helicopter, which was carrying a patient at the time, set down in a field next to Publix at Highway 17 and Main Road. No one was injured during the emergency landing, and the patient was transported via ambulance to an area hospital.
