Metal Thieves Hit West Ashley Businesses
Thieves hit two area car lots to steal more than a dozen catalytic converters and stole an air conditioning unit from a florist along Savannah Highway this past week.

Two car dealerships and a florist found themselves victims to people stealing metal for scrap according to separate police and sheriff's office reports.
On Friday, April 20, Kia Country on Savannah Highway found someone had removed the catalytic converters from seven vehicles on the dealership lot, according to a sheriff's office report.
On Monday, April 23, Hoover Mitsubishi, also on Savannah Highway reported someone had removed catalytic converters from seven cars on its lot as well, according to a police report. The dealership told officers the theft had occurred between 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Monday, when the damage was first noticed.

On Saturday, April 21, the owner of Seithels Florists, also on Savannah Highway, found the air conditioning unit for his building had been disconnected and stolen, according to police report. He told officers the theft had occurred between 5 p.m., Thursday and 12:38 p.m. Saturday.
