More KKK Fliers Found in West Ashley Neighborhoods
The Charleston County Sheriff's Office collected dozens more fliers promoting a KKK neighborhood watch in the Springfield and Canterbury Woods neighborhoods

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office continues to collect KKK literature that is being distributed in West Ashley neighborhoods.
On Friday deputies recovered 67 plastic bags that included rocks and fliers promoting a KKK neighborhood watch program from the Springfield and Canterbury Woods neighborhoods off Ashley River Road, near Church Creek. The rocks were included to weigh down the plastic bags containing the fliers, according to a CCSO report.
The fliers were left between midnight and 11:39 a.m., the report stated.

On Oct. 19 the Sheriff's Office issued a statement about recovering similar KKK fliers in the nearby Forest Lakes subdivision. Last March another batch of KKK fliers were found in the Pierpont area, also near the location of the latest batch.
The group distributing the fliers is the Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, one of five Klan groups active in South Carolina, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. The group also distributed fliers in Ladson and Hanahan neighborhoods last December.
