Mount Pleasant Police began searching Wednesday for a Mount Pleasant woman after coworkers reported her missing.

Beth Walters Kornuta, 52, is 6-feet 1-inch tall, with blond hair and blue eyes and weighing about 140 pounds.
She was last seen shortly before noon Wednesday at Goin' Postal at 3022 Morgan's Point Road. She was driving a silver Saturn Vue SUV, license plate number EGZ512, and may have been spotted last near McClellanville near U.S. Hwy. 17 and S.C. Hwy. 45, according to a Mount Pleasant Police Department statement.

Police say Kornuta may be considering taking her life as coworkers said she had been sending texts indicating she was planning to end her life, and because she has previously attempted suicide.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Kornuta is asked to call Mount Pleasant Police at 884-4176.
