Murder Suspect Returning Today to Charleston Co.

Charleston County Sheriff's Office to file murder charge against Chelsey Black this afternoon

A suspect in a fatal Friday stabbing in West Ashley will return to Charleston County today, officials are saying

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office confirmed today that Chesley "CJ" Black, 29, of 2103 Fife Lane, will be returned around 4:15 p.m. today to face a murder charge in connection with the death of his wife, Amanda Kalman Black.

Chesley Black was apprehended late Friday in Sumter County, and he has been held by the Sumter County Sheriff's Office since.

CCSO officers and Charleston Police Officers responded to the Black's Fife Lane home Friday afternoon on a report of a possible stabbing and found Amanda Black's body inside the home. The Fife Lane address is outside City of Charleston corporate limits so the CPD officers on scene turned the investigation over to CCSO deputies.

Officers bagan searching for Chesley Black Friday afternoon for questioning related to the death of his wife.

Mjr. Jim Brady, CCSO's public information officer, confirmed over the weekend that officers have responded previously to the Black home for domestic incidents.
