Here are the top three stories in Charleston today:

  1. Charleston Fire Department has a new firetruck. The firetruck is a "collapsible rescue" vehicle that is specialized to support incidents involving a collapsed building. The department's crews will begin training with the vehicle this month. Click the following link to view the new vehicle. (WCBD News 2)
  2. The Charleston International Airport is adding additional seating to its boarding areas. Additional seating is required as the airport continues to expand its travel destinations. The airport is adding 299 seats to Concourse A. An additional 231 seats are being added to Concourse B. (Charleston Post Courier)
  3. Charleston's Joseph Floyd Manor, a public housing complex, has received another failing grade from federal inspectors. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development toured the complex on May 31. The complex's exterior, common areas, and units were inspected by the officials. The final score was 36 points out of a possible 100 points. The complex received a 19-point score in 2020. (Charleston Post Courier)
