- The City of Charleston Police Department selected a new Director Of Procedural Justice And Research. Jillian Eidson, originally from Hilton Head, has an illustrious background in criminology, spending 17 years in Philadelphia. In her new role, she will direct revisions of policies and direct the development, review, and more of procedural justice. (Press Release Desk)
- One victim perished in a Saturday morning fire in North Charleston. Local firefighters are working to determine the cause of the fire reported in a single-story home in the 4700 block of Abraham Avenue. While firefighters and Charleston County EMS performed life-saving care on the person found in the engulfed home, the victim died. (Live 5 News WCSC)
- Charleston County arrested a man after a car chase on Saturday. Deputies attempted to stop a stolen pickup truck driven by Parris D’Shawn Sutton. They chased the vehicle on I-526 but canceled the pursuit before entering Mount Pleasant, where Mount Pleasant Police Department picked it up and located the vehicle near Chuck Dawley Boulevard and Bowman Road. Sutton ran from the vehicle, and a perimeter was set up in the area. The suspect was found under a house on Bowman Road and he was arrested. (Live 5 News WCSC)

- The U.S. National Weather Service warned residents to expect a strong cooling trend into next week. High pressure will extend across the region through the weekend. - The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce urged the Charleston County Council to adopt the proposed amendments that allow salt marsh projects to proceed without variances.
