- The Charleston Police Department is currently investigating two separate Saturday night shootings. The first incident occurred in the area of South Street and America Street at 10:54 p.m. The second shooting occurred at the Bridgeview Apartments on North Romney Street at 10:58 p.m. One adult male and one teen boy were injured during the shootings. No arrests have been made, yet. (Live 5 News WCSC)
- Charleston Ballet will be holding auditions for its production of "NUTCRACKER! Magical Christmas Ballet." The auditions will be held on Sunday, Oct. 16 at noon. Children between 6 and 17 years old will be allowed to audition for parts; there is no technical level required to audition. Click to register. (The Times and Democrat)
- The Charleston Museum will be launching a commemorative book to celebrate its 250th Anniversary. The book, titled "The Charleston Museum: America's First Museum," will release on Thursday, Oct. 13. It will contain an extensive overview of each of the museum's exhibits. (holycitysinner.com)
