- The Charleston County School District is transitioning Angel Oak Elementary School into an early learning school. The transition was approved during Monday's board of trustees meeting. The school will be for children through first grade. The transition is possible through the approval of a new elementary school on River Road. (Live 5 News WCSC)
- The Charleston County School District has openly admitted to violating the South Carolina open records law. The district's board of trustees has voted to correct the violation. The reversal is largely due to a letter that the state's Attorney General sent to the board in August warning that it would face a lawsuit if it is not fixed. The issue is centered around the board not providing adequate notice of agenda changes before meetings. (Subscription: Charleston Post Courier)
- The Charleston County Public Works Department is conducting open interviews on Friday, Sep. 23 to fill a variety of open positions. The department will be offering conditional same-day offers during the event. The interviews are scheduled for 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Public Service Building on Bridge View Drive. Please bring social security cards, driver's licenses, and resumes to the event. (WCBD News 2)
