- The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has received a $280,000 grant to combat opioid deaths. The funds will be used to hire a forensic analyst to study the region's fatal overdose rate. The 0ffice has handled 146 confirmed unintentional drug-related deaths in 2022. (WCBD News 2)
- The Charleston Fire Department responded to a car fire on Savannah Highway on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred at 11:51 a.m. near Orleans Road in West Ashley. Thankfully, no injuries were reported during the incident. Traffic was redirected while the vehicle was cleared from the roadway. (Live 5 News WCSC)
- North Charleston has a new grocery store. Lidl, a German international discount retailer, is opening a new location on Dorchester Road. To celebrate its grand opening, the store offered gift cards to the first 100 customers in line on Wednesday. The new location will be operating from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. every day. (Live 5 News)
