Pearlz Gets Creative for Avondale Restuarant Week
Pearlz Little Oyster Bar is featuring at least three different menus for Avondale Restaurant Week
Pearlz Little Oyster Bar has gotten a new head chef since February when it participated in the first Avondale Restaurant Week, and Scott Ottinger wanted a challenge for the sequel.
"I wanted to challenge myself by doing something different every night," Ottinger said. "You know we have a lot of regulars who come in almost every night and so we wanted them to be able to try some different things."
Pearlz is offering the same three courses for $20 deal as the other participating restaurants, and like everyone else has created some new dishes for the promotion including a lobster mac and cheese, oyster chowder and a crawfish roll.

"We use local fresh ingredients," Assistant Manager Rebekah Burtis said. "We were able to use a lot of the ingredients from the regular menu, but tweaked then a little bit to create some unique dishes."
At Pearlz the new dishes might not disappear after Restaurant Week ends, Burtis said keeping some of them around to feature as daily specials on occasion has already been discussed.

The menu included with this post will be used today (Thursday, Sept. 20) but Ottinger said he plans to have a new menu for the weekend, and that it will be posted on Pearlz' Facebook page.
