Pedestrian Hit on Savannah Hwy.

A car struck a pedestrian on Savannah Highway near White Oak Road Tuesday night

A car collided with a pedestrian on Savannah Highway, near White Oak Drive Tuesday night sending the pedestrian to MUSC.

The wreck happened at 8:27 p.m. and resulted in traffic bing rerouted around the scene until after 11 p.m., according to statements from Charleston Police Department Public Information Officer Charles Francis.

The condition and identity of the pedestrian was not released Tuesday night. There was also no word on whether the driver will face any charges stemming from the collision.
