Here are the top three stories in Charleston today:
- The Pendleton Whiskey Velocity Tour will be held in North Charleston next year. The Professional Bull Riders event will be at the Charleston Coliseum Feb. 13 and Feb. 14. Some of the best bull riders in the world will be participating in the event. Click to get tickets. (Wrangler Network)
- Downtown Charleston's John L. Dart Library will close starting on Oct. 15 for renovations. The project will refresh the interior's paint, carpet, and furniture. The renovation project will likely take several months. Held items will be re-routed to the main branch on Calhoun Street. Items can be returned to other branches during the renovation project. - During Wednesday's Planning Commission meeting, the Charleston Redevelopment Corporation presented its efforts to increase affordable housing. CEO F.A. Johnson reports that the corporation has preserved 84 units in the city while committing $17 million to affordable housing projects.
