Police Arrest Two For Armed Robbery

Pair detained and arrested minutes after allegedly committing the robbery

CHARLESTON — Officers closed in on two women suspected of robbing a Sam Rittenburg Boulevard gas station approximately 15 minutes after they allegedly fled the scene of the armed robbery around 6:15 a.m. Sunday.

Tamika Judge, 25 and Denise Octavia Bell, 26, were both charged with armed robbery, grand larceny and kidnapping. The women are accused of threatening the employees of the gas station with a Taser, though the weapon was not used on anyone during the robbery, according to a statement released by Charleston Police.

Police say the women used duct tape to subdue one store employee and force her into the store's cooler. The pair fled the scene after the robbery in the vehicle of another store employee. Officers located the two women with the stolen car about 15 minutes later in the nearby Northbridge Shopping Center.
