The blotter is compiled from incident and arrest reports filed by the City of Charleston Police Department and the Charleston County Sheriff's Office in the West Ashley area, which includes ZIP codes 29407 and 29414. Persons charged with a crime are innocent until proven guilty.
String of Shadowmoss Car Break-ins
CHARLESTON - At least three cars were broken into in the Shadowmoss neighborhood overnight last Friday, according to a Charleston Police report.

The theif made off with two GPS units and a digital camera worth more than $1,000. The report notes both cars from which GPS units were removed had been left unlocked, however it did not specify whether the third vehicle was locked at the time of the break-in.

CHARLESTON - Charleston Police received two reports concerning thefts of two very different types of rubber products last week.
Around 6:25 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25 a man shoplifted six 12-pack boxes of condoms from the Rite Aid on Ashley River Road, according to one report. The shoplifter is described as a 6-foot tall, medium build, bald, 30-40-year-old African American. He was wearing a gray jacket, white shirt and jean shorts.
Then on Firday, Oct. 28, a Broughton Road man reported someone stole 9 rubber boat bumpers and a storage box from his boat while it was docked at his house. The man believes the theft was made by boat as his yard is fenced.
