CHARLESTON - Responding to a report of shots fired on Sunday, Charleston Police officers found a man on the ground on Hazelwood Drive who had been shot by unknown men, according to a report. EMS and the fire department also responded to the scene. Police are still investigating.

Have keys, will burgle
CHARLESTON - A thief apparently opened the front door of an Avondale Avenue pizzeria with a key, according to a Charleston Police Department report.

Video surveillance inside the business caught the man opening the front door and heading to the back of the business to attempt to disarm the alarm. When that attempt was unsuccessful he headed quickly to the store's safe and opened it without any apparent trouble, removing $459 cash. He then fled from the business leaving the front door open behind him, the report states.
