Police Issue Warrant for West Ashley Man

Charleston Police are asking the public for help finding a West Ashley man wanted for assault and battery

The Charleston Police Department issued an arrest warrant for 22-year-old Eric A. Wigfall, of 1625 Samuel Road, Charleston on Friday and asked the public for help locating him.

Wigfall is being accused of assault and battery - 2nd degree, in a case reported Thursday afternoon on Wantoot Boulevard, according to a Police statement. Around 4:20 p.m., according to the spolice statement, Wigfall, armed with a handgun, approached another man on Wantoot Boulevard where a confrontation ensued. During the confrontation Wigfall is alledged to have fired several shots at the other man, though no one was injured, according to the statement.

Police identified Wigfall as the gunman from evidence collected during the investigation, according to the statement.
