Police Release Photo of Piggly Wiggly Robbery Suspect, Ask for Help Finding Him

Armed robber allegedly used a gun to steal items from store in late October

CHARLESTON — Charleston Police have released a security camera image of a man they say robbed Piggly Wiggly on Sumar Street in West Ashley on Oct. 29 and now are asking for the public's help in finding him.

According to a police report, around 3:20 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, the man entered the store and took a $50 package of New York strip steaks and a $10.99 package of Pampers diapers and left the store without paying for them. While he was in the store the report states he brandished a handgun and threatened to use it.

Police ask anyone with information about the case to call 577-7434.
