Police Release Photo of Suspected Card Thief
Charleston Police are asking for help finding the man they say is responsible a spending spree with debit cards stolen from an elderly woman earlier this month
Charleston Police are looking for a person that ran up more than $1,200 on credit and debit cards stolen from a 72-year-old woman on Aug. 14.
Police on Monday released surveillance photos of the alleged suspect shopping at in an effort to engage Lowcountry residents in the search for the man.
The victim had been shopping at on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard around 5 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 14, but couldn't find her wallet when she got to the cashier. She told officers that she had turned her back on her shopping cart in the store's frozen foods section and suspected that is when someone removed her wallet, according to an incident report.

Officers were able to confirm that someone had used the victim's Bank of America and Wells Fargo debit cards at T.J. Maxx, and , racking up more than $1,200 in charges. Police say the man in the images from the TJ Maxx security cameras is responsible for using the victim's debit card at TJ Maxx.
