Readers' Choice: Pick Your Favorite Mechanic

Car repairs can always be dreadful, but maybe not if you know the right mechanic.

Many of us waiting until the muffler falls off, the engine’s billowing smoke or your tires come to a squealing halt before it becomes clear that a mechanic is needed.

But who do you call?

With mom-and-pop shops, word of mouth can go a long way. That’s why we are asking you our Patch friends and family do you have a favorite auto mechanic in your town?

Local shops are a great find. While they may not tout the speed of their competition, their work is skillfully done and at times, cheaper than the competition.

Vote for your favorite shop in Goose Creek, Mount Pleasant, Summerville and West Ashley in our "Best Mechanic" contest as Patch unveils its Readers' Choice. Nominations ended July 9. Winners will be announced in August.
