Let's face it finding vegetarian food in South Carolina can be difficult at times. In a state where barbecue is it’s on food group, finding a meatless option at some places can be tricky.

But things have improved.

Even meat-eaters are looking for vegetarian-friendly fare, as they look to save calories and cut the fat.

But where can you find a meat-free meal with more choices than just steamed vegetables and pasta?

Vote for your favorite restaurant in Goose Creek, Mount Pleasant, Summerville and West Ashley in our "Best Vegetarian-Friendly Restaurant" contest as Patch unveils its Readers' Choice. Nominations ended July 9. Winners will be announced in August.
