- The inaugural Riverfront Revival festival debuts in North Charleston this weekend. The festival is curated and headlined by Darius Rucker, the frontman of Hootie & the Blowfish. - The Charleston Fire Department responded to a West Ashley home fire on Thursday morning. The incident occurred in the 700 block of Catawba Road shortly after 6:30 a.m. Responding crews were able to contain the fire within 40 minutes. There were no obvious injuries sustained during the fire. The department is currently investigating the incident to determine the cause. (Live 5 News)
- The North Charleston Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred on Thursday afternoon in the Pepperidge area. The department responded to Hunters Ridge after receiving a call about possible gunshots. More than one individual had been shot and one person was declared deceased at the scene. The initial investigation indicates it might have been a drive-by shooting. (Count On 2)
