Here are the top three stories in Charleston today:
- The Charleston Police Department reports that charges have been upgraded for Tyreece Smith, 32 years old. Smith was initially charged as an accessory to a murder that occurred on Monday, Oct. 24 on Allway Street. His charges have been upgraded to murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. (ABC NEWS 4)
- Disney’s Aladdin will be performing in North Charleston early next year. The national tour will be making a stop at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center on Feb. 26. Thomas Schumacher is directing the performance. Click for ticket information. (WCBD News 2)
- The Charleston Literary Festival will kick off on Friday. The 10-day festival will offer engaging talks, book discussions, intimate learning experiences, and more.
