All race proceeds will go to The Charles Webb Center at 1611 Evergreen St., which serves children, ages 6 weeks to 10 years with developmental disabilities and special needs.
Organizers want the 5K to be a green event and are encouraging participants to car-pool, bike, walk, run or ride a CARTA bus to the race - extra bike racks will be set up prior to the race. They also ask participants to bring refillable water bottles to keep hydrated during the race. Additionally the top winners in all the race categories will receive special recycled glass trophies donated by Chris Fisher of Fisher Recycling. Â
