St. Andrews FD Holding Avondale Block Party Fundraiser for Assistance Fund

CHARLESTON - The St. Andrews Fire Department is hosting the inagural Avondale 10% Block Party this weekend in the Avondale Point Business District.

Festivities are scheduled from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.and include live music, children's activities and a silent auction. Admission is free, and firefighters will be selling wristbands that entitle the purchaser to 10% discounts at participating merchants the day of the event for a $5 donnation to the fund.

The St. Andrews Firefighters Community Assistance Fund was established earlier this year as a way for St. Andrews firefighters to give back to the community they serve. SAFCAF funds are used to support area residents and community groups with financial and volunteer assistance.
