Here are the top three stories today in Charleston:

  1. The City of Charleston reports that its stormwater department is currently half-staffed. According to the city, staffing issues are a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The vacancies are for CDL drivers, construction laborers, and engineers. An understaffed department reduces the frequency of routine maintenance. The city is updating its equipment and maintenance schedules to compensate. (Live 5 News WCSC)
  2. The Charleston Police Department is asking for the community's assistance in identifying a man and woman connected to a downtown assault investigation. The incident occurred on Sunday, Oct. 23, near INK Rooftop & Lounge. The department reports that the individuals are not suspects in the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the department. (ABC NEWS 4)
  3. Downtown Charleston's International African American Museum will be hosting a pre-opening worship service on Nov. 16. The service will be held at Mount Moriah Baptist Church on Rivers Ave at 6:00 p.m. The entire community is welcome and invited to attend the service. Click to register today.
