Student Arrested at WAHS with Weapons, Drugs
A West Ashley High School student was arrested Thursday after spotting a knife in his car

A West Ashley High School student is facing drugs and weapons charges after a school resource officer allegedly found several knives, a loaded shotgun and 20 grams of marijuana in his truck.
Colby Rawson, 18, of John's Island is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within close proximity to a park or school, possession with intent to distribute/manufacture marijuana, two counts of unlawful carry of a weapon on school property and possession of a firearm on school property, Live5News reports.
While patrolling the student parking lot, the School Resource Officer at West Ashley High School spotted one of the knives in the front seat of Rawson's truck, which led to a search of the vehicle, according to a Charleston Police Department report. During the search officers found a hatchet, two machetes, four other knives, a loaded shotgun and 20 grams of marijuana along with a digital scale and several plastic bags.
