Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest
A James Island man pulled over in West Ashley on Tuesday night now faces drug-related charges, police said.

Forgetting to use his turn signals got one James Island man in hot water, according to a statement issued by the Charleston Police Department.
A patrol officer stopped 25-year-old Kenneth Allen Smalls of 1124 Lemontree Lane, James Island, around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, after the officer watched him make two turns without signaling, according to the statement.
During the traffic stop, near the intersection of White Drive and Wantoot Boulevard, the officer smelled marijuana and searched the car Smalls was driving, discovering 445 grams of marijuana and close to $1,200 cash, according to the statement.

Smalls is charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute within close proximity of a school, according to the statement.
