Tropical Storm Gordon Formed Thursday Morning
The eighth named storm of the 2012 Hurricane Season formed Thursday morning.

Tropical Storm Gordon crossed the threshold from tropical depression to a full-fledged tropical cyclone Thursday morning according to the National Hurricane Center.
Gordon is not expected to make landfall anywhere in North America though as the forecasted track takes the storm east-northeast over the next several days. Gordon had sustained winds of 40 MPH as of the latest NHC advisory at 5 a.m. Thursday, and was moving north-northeast at about 14 MPH.
Forecasters say Gordon could intensify into a hurricane within the next 72 hours.
