USC's Carolina on King Welcome Center Holds Grand Opening
The Gamecock Nation has a new Lowcountry HQ with the University of South Carolina's new Charleston Welcome Center — Carolina on King

The University of South Carolina recently created a new Welcome Center in Charleston called Carolina on King, and it's holding a grand opening ceremony Thursday.
Carolina on King is meant to serve as a "welcoming point to Charleston tourists and residents, introducing prospective students and their parents to USC. It also will provide a place to connect and engage USC alumni in the community with their alma mater," according to a USC press statement.
The Carolina on King grand opening ceremony will be held 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., Thursday at 258 King St. Speakers will include USC President Harris Pastides, Charleston Mayor Joe Riley and USC Athletics Director Ray Tanner.

In addition to the grand opening ceremony, Carolina on King is hosting "Garnet on Gameday" on Friday with 10 percent off any one garnet item that day. On Saturday the welcome center is giving away spirit T-shirts with any purchase for $75 or more.
The welcome center carries University of South Carolina merchandise and apparell and is open 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday - Thursday, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon - 6 p.m. on Sunday.
