Voters Could See I-526 Referendum on Ballots

Come November voters may get a chance to weigh in on whether and how to complete I-526, according to News 2.

Charleston County Council will consider whether to add a non-binding referendum on the subject to the general election ballots. Sample wording could ask county residents whether to finish the interstate highway without considering the SC Department of Transportation's preferred alternative.

That alternative would be a lower-speed divided lane parkway rather than the a high speed Interstate highway.
