Walter Hundley Wins Sen 41 GOP Primary

Walter Hundley will face Democrat Paul Tinkler in the special election to fill the S.C. Senate 41 seat for the remainder of Glenn McConnell's term after a win in Tuesday's Republican primary election.

The Charleston Post and Courier reports Hundley won 57 percent of the vote, beating out Wally Burbage, Sean Pike and John Steinberger.

Following the victory S.C. Sen Brad Hutto (D-Orangeburg) issued a statement congratulating Hundley:

“Congratulations to my fellow trial lawyer on an impressive win. Walter has been a great friend to me and my colleagues, like Sen. Robert Ford and Sen. Vincent Sheheen. He’s been very generous with campaign cash for Democrats and other progressive causes over the years. Frankly I’m amazed that Lowcountry Republicans would nominate someone who has helped so many Democrats get elected.”
