Charleston County deputies are searching for a bank robbery suspect.
Deputies said that around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, a heavy-set man in his 50s with a gray beard and wearing a dark gray polo shirt, sunglasses and a hat, robbed the West Ashley branch at 1776 Ashley River Road.
The suspect was last seen heading toward Wallace School Road on Ashley River Road on foot. The man was armed, however a statement from the Sheriff's Office does not specify the type of weapon or the amount of cash taken.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 554-2475 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
