West Ashley Doc Among the Best in U.S.

Critical Care Specialist Dr. Michael Spandorfer has been named as one of the Top Doctors in the country by U.S. News and World Report.

Spandorfer is one of 47 Charleston area doctors included on the peer nominated list compiled by U.S. News. The Top Doctors directory includes 31,000 physicians from across the country, all of whom were nominated by other doctors and vetted by a physician-led research team.

Most of the Holy City doctors that made the cut practice at the Medical University of South Carolina. But if you're looking for a doctor closer to home try searching the Patch directory for West Ashley doctors.

U.S. News says physicians cannot pay to be included in the directory, and that recommendations from other physicians is the best way to determine outstanding physicians.
